I would never go meleemancer. For the record the N/W builds I use all include Flurry and Save Yourselves along with a spear and shield. It's really the only option if I want to pack the skill. Sometimes I bring Dark Fury on myself but normally I'm lazy and leave it to a hero.
The problem with Wail is the short uptime and the single-target effect. Sure, in some spots and some team configurations it can be highly useful. Still I consider it pretty niche. However, a nice thing about Factions is at least bosses don't have halved hex duration. Half hex duration on Wail is pretty painful. Oh and yeah enemies attack right through Empathy. Mark of Pain makes them scatter. SS induces slight scatter but nowhere near as much as Mark of Pain. Churning Earth is good. It's not exactly on a short recharge, though. Would prefer sticking it on my Ether Renewal protector hero. I've played some with Weaken Knees and I find it pretty useful and a good utility. I just have a thing against IV. Low damage, boring, boing, bing. Bling!
Oh actually as ridiculous as it might sound I've even run N/W SY with Auspicious Parry but that's another subject. |
